Andresen Memorial Ag Scholarship
Agriculture is a vital part of our global economy, and right now as the world faces more and more complex challenges, the demand for motivated, innovative individuals is higher than ever. Working in agriculture offers many diverse career opportunities that are exciting, challenging and incredibly rewarding.
Harold and Kay Andresen of rural Chadwick, Illinois farmed for over 50 years. In appreciation of their success in farming and in their memory, the Andresen family awards Ag Scholarships to encourage young people to join the field of agriculture. Kay passed away in 2017 and Harold in 2025, but their legacy of supporting the next generation continues.
Award Amount
$1,500 scholarships are being awarded to graduating seniors who have been accepted at an accredited community college, university or technical school.
Selection Criteria
The scholarships are based on:
- Need of the student
- Scholastic ability
- Moral character
- Leadership qualities
- Community involvement
There will be an unlimited number of Ag scholarships given out to deserving young people in Carroll County.
Application Requirements
Please include with the application:
- One High School Transcript
- One Character Reference
- One Teacher Recommendation
- An essay: In 300 words or less, please describe your plans for your education, long term and short-term goals, what difference your education would make to you, your family and your community.
- Completed Financial Report (attached to application)
